Paris Date Night

I had this idea for a clever date. why don’t we travel the world in our living room. So I made a fake passport, and started thinking. Obviously we needed to go to Paris.

So I got some French wine, crepe mix and fancy cheese.

I made a cheese platter and played french music.

I placed Eiffel towers throughout the apartment (which I already owned).

He loved it. I hope this inspires you to “travel” ;)

A Pros tip to saving money===

What we have been doing is eating dinner earlier on weekends then going out for a beer and an appetizer after! When we eat dinner at before 6:30 and then go to a restaurant, we are full and our wallets are not as empty.

and when we split the bill its only about 7 bucks a person, for 2 beers and an appetizer and it feels like we ate out!

stretch that quality time together, its like 2 dates! one at home with a home cooked meal, and another at a restaurant!

Do you guys have an other dinner saving tips?

Luau / Ocean / Tropical Birthday Party

It was My man’s 26th birthday this weekend SO I threw him a big party with all of his friends it was such a success.

He is a flip-flop lever so I though that a beach themed would be a great idea. I was so inspired by all the available part options that it morphed into a luau/fish theme as well!

I decorated the whole house! I hung blue streamers from the ceiling and and fish!

Here is a picture of the two of us below!

I got most of the decorations from Party City! :)

the decorations were a big hit, the whole house was dolled up.

I actually just hung an old plastic table cloth across the wall to add a kind of ocean effect.

I think his favorite part was the volcano cake, I made it by stacking three layers and then carving until I got the shape I wanted. I added red for lava and sparklers for effect!

The food was also a big hit. Ryan’s mom made a kale salad and a chili corn dip. We also had cocktail shrimp and margaritas!

Fridge Chopped Pasta

I call this recipe Fridge Chopped Pasta. Have you seen the show Chopped? Basically contestants compete to be the best chef and win money, but they have to cook what is in the “mystery basket” sometimes they get really random stuff, the worst I have seen is the got those marshmallow peeps in the appetizer round.

So with this recipe I go to the fridge and pantry and see what is there. and I make a pasta dish with it. Last nights dinner was pene pasta, with red chilli peppers, peas and carrots, Parmesan cheese, a sliced Boca burger and I added some honey, milk and sour cream to temper the spice. I also made a side salad because we had Romain and I cut up some carrots in it. It sounds a little weird but its a great way to squeeze dinner out of your pantry without having to go to the store. I feel like we always have pasta noodles of some sort.

Who did you use to be?

Do you feel like you have changed in recent years? Maybe that’s apart of growing up?

Looking back at my life, I am happy. When you think about the future, you always think about the past. I can’t say I ever want to be a teenager again. I had 3 jobs at one point in high school, I don’t recommend that.I wish that I had more of a social life and tried to make more of a connection with other people.

boy did I sure go through some phases…

14 Days of Love

I have seen this floating around pinterest, this idea that for 14 days before Valentines day you spoil your honey. I employed this in full force for this years valentines day. I would recommend planning in advance. Or maybe only doing a week of love. It got kind of intense. But it is so rewarding to spoil someone you love.

image(5)

I set it up with 13 gift bags, with a “gift” inside each one. the gift gave a hint about what was planned for that day.

Day One   photo(91)
For today, I decorated the bathroom and had a gift for him. I gave him chili pepper, because I was making enchiladas for dinner. I put a note on the chili pepper that said “you set my life on fire”

For dinner I found plastic heart plates at a thrift store. I also cut the homemade tortilla chips I was making into hearts.

Day Two

Was a movie night. I set up a fake concession stand and rented some movies. (pictures to be added).

I tried to recreate something like this:

Day Three

Today was super bowl. I decorated the table, made bean dip and other super bowl favorites.

Day Four

I made a notebook of “alphabet of love”

I also made calzones, which he LOVED.

Day Five

this was bear hug day. I made him a card with Colbert on it, because the number one threat to America is BEARS. I also hand sewed him a teddy bear and got him a honey bear.

photo(92) photo(93)

I completely eyeballed the pattern. i made the feet into circles, and cut the body in one big piece. real professional looking. Except not really. However! he really liked it.

I also gave him a honey bear.

Day Six

Box of sunshine day! I packed him a “lunch” of a bunch of yellow stuff i got at party city and brought him a sandwich from his favorite deli!

I tried to recreate this: You are my sunshine, my only sunshine... you make me happy, when skies are gray! credit:http://happymoneysaver.com

I just used a cheap Yellow gift bag and filled it with stuff from the dollar store that was yellow, and surprised him at school with it.

Day Seven

today was a burger date. I made veggie burgers. I also gave him 4 framed photos of the two of us.

Home-made sushi, as you can see above, is easier than I thought it would be :)
I simply followed the instructions on the sushi roller box. I made Cucumber, Avocado, Californian rolls, I even added some salsa to some. Yum!

I have had a Pinterest for several months now. I love Pinterest, but there is some shortcomings with the website. The great thing about Pinterest is that it allows you to story board all of your ideas and desires. The bad thing about Pinterest is that it does not really give you a medium to display your own fabulous and fantastic creative ideas. Pinterest allows you to categorize and display other people’s ideas, but not your own. so that it what I hope to do with this blog. Show you how to do things, to give you ideas, and hopefully inspire you.
